National Film Board of Canada: Way To Go

Top 6: February 18th 2015
‘Way to Go’ is an interactive immersive experience created by Vincent Morisset, produced by his studio AATOAA in collaboration with the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) and France Télévisions. ‘Way to Go’ is an interactive website, combining hand-made animation, 360-degree video capture and music with a walking simulator. Using hand-made animation, music, 360-degree capture technology and webGL sorcery, Way to Go is a free-to-play dream-world of journeys. Walk, run, fly; crouch in the grass and remember what’s hidden all around. Slip like a rumour from one place into another; chase your shadow; listen to the slow pulse of the metronome, black-clad, following in your wake. ‘Way to Go' was first revealed to the world as a virtual reality project utilising Oculus Rift VR at the Sundance Film Festival’s New Frontier Program on January 26, 2015. Showcasing the project in Montréal tonight, Morisset will also be presenting 'Way to Go' in Paris and London in early March, where the audience will have the opportunity to meet with Vincent, and experience ‘Way to Go’ in its intended format, virtual reality.
