This week's guest judge is Cameron Hoelter, creative director of The Campaign Palace, Sydney, which he joined two years ago from Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne.
Cameron's not only created some of Australia's most loved campaigns, he's
helped build some of Australia's most iconic brands, like Pure Blonde,
Bonds, Sorbent, Libra and Twisties. He's also created award-winning work for
international brands such as Panasonic, Lumix, Dulux, and Mercedes-Benz.
He's won numerous national and international awards including Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, Effies, New York Festival, Adfest Asia and AWARD.
BEST TVOf the six selections this week, I've gone for
Dulux 'Walls are dancing'. While not as grand as 'Let's Colour' it continues the same generous tone. And as a filmed stunt, the idea has a little more depth than most others of the genre.
Runner up goes to
John Smiths. Funny dog. Funny bloke. Not a classic but worthy of a biscuit.
BEST PRINTBest Ads etiquette prevents me from considering the Bonds ad in this lot. But kudos to
AXA for turning a print ad into a 'TV' ad. Technologically innovative, though I kind of wanted the 'TV' bit to be a tad more rewarding.
BEST OUTDOORI've gone with the
Vote for Kids 'T-Shirt'. Pretty interesting when you can use the issue as media. A news worthy idea, which I'm sure will draw the attention of more than just pedestrians.
Second goes to
Tesa Insect Stop Net. Nice piece opportunism I suspect.
BEST INTERACTIVESome belters in this bunch. With some fresh Twitter applications. Number one goes to
Uniqlo 'Lucky Counter'. Uniqlo continue to blaze a digital trail in retail fashion. Smart, generous and unique.
Second goes to
JFK Library. An innovative way to follow the rise to power of one of history's great leaders, 50 years after the fact. And JFK Tweets sitting next to Obama's on your mobile, is kind of thought provoking.
