 GUEST JUDGE /BEST AD OF THE WEEK   WORLDWIDE    December 17, 2014 08:25 (Edited: February 17, 2023 04:19)
BEST TV
What strikes me with this category, is that there's nothing under a minute. It makes me wonder, could they tell the story in less time, would it be better if it was shorter or are these commercials good as they are? Not one winner that stands out really. Apart from Wild Aid 'Last Days Film'. It's different. Different enough to keep my attention. Even though it feels too long it's well executed. The web site connects nicely with the film.

BEST PRINT
Sanctuary Asia 'Leopard' leaves me with no words. Very in your face but good stuff. Wow.

Runner up: Boca Maldita Imperial IPA Beer 'Drink Wisely'. This is a funny, old fashioned good double take ad. Seen it before, but not in this subtle way, it makes me smile.

BEST OUTDOOR
Jack Daniel's 'Holiday Holograms' is a clear winner in every field. It delivers on brand positioning, it's original, emotional and very well presented. Love it.

Runner up: Air Canada 'Gift of Home'. The girl in the end who's calling for her mum game me a smile. The rest I'm not too sure about, what did it do in social? Nice idea, but what did it do?

BEST INTERACTIVE
Many well executed runner ups in this category. Detect Eye Cancer from Childhood Eye Cancer Trust really got my attention though. In my opinion, it's tough to compare charity and commercial brands and campaigns. This one stands out. The insights, the idea, the way it's communicated is very clear and easy to grasp. The fast Wifi that you don't need to download an app or go to a website; everyone with a flash on their mobile phone can experience what the message says. Brilliant.

Runner up: Andes Beer 'Message In A Bottle'. A nice casefilm, it's funny and fits the product. With this kind of case film I always ask myself how many people actually do it and experience the same as shown in the video. The fact is, that many people will recognise the insights, they'll laugh and share..
