Guest Judge: Josh Moore, CEO + CCO, Y&R, New Zealand

 GUEST JUDGE /BEST AD OF THE WEEK   WORLDWIDE    February 16, 2016 07:38 (Edited: February 17, 2023 04:19)
BEST TV
Winner: Doritos: Ultrasound. Brilliant for the first 25 seconds, magic for the last 5. This is without a doubt the funniest and most unforgettable spot (possibly for the wrong reasons) I've seen in a year or so.

Runner-up: H&M: Everyone Dresses Like Beckham. A great insight, beautifully executed with a memorable twist at the end. Charming work.

BEST PRINT
Winner: Randolph Engineering: Hawk. You've got to admire the craft and the sales pitch in getting this over the line.

Runner up: Dodge head lights. Topical within Play Boy's first non-nudity issue, not genius, but the tail light execution in particular is just funny. Is it the 10-speed bike?

BEST OUTDOOR
I can't find anything worthy of first place. But equal runners up for both the Hunger Project: A table to end hunger and Wild Aid: The year of the elephant.

BEST INTERACTIVE
Winner: Halo 5: Squadvertiser. I don't play Halo (Headshot - McQueen), but I do play COD and my teammates are amateurs. I don't mean to call them out publicly but - stungaf and phenyl I'd happily trade for an extra primary weapon attachment and a 2nd frag grenade. Back to Halo. Great consumer insight simply executed, very nice work.

Runner up: Gatorade: Super Bowl Dunk Snapchat Lens. Cute simple idea that I'm sure millions of people would have loved on game day. Slick mobile UX, great work.

This week's guest judge is Josh Moore, chief executive officer and chief creative officer at Y&R New Zealand.

Don't Die Wondering is the philosophy of Y&RNZ, Y&R's only full service integrated agency.

It's this philosophy that has driven Y&R from a NZ ranking of 17th to the top 3 in four years producing globally recognised work in 2015, like McWhopper, Breast Milk, Love from Land Rover, Living Memories and Jaguar Actual Reality.

Says Josh Moore: "Our goal for 2016 is to do everything right so that we are here in 2017, we've watched so many agencies rise fast and fall just as quick, this year will be all about controlled growth, backing up our best year so far with a year just as good and delivering our best work for those clients we didn't win for last year."
