BBH Singapore has created two print executions for Levi's. They were first shot using real models by one of Australia’s top photographers, Andreas Smetana - after which their forms were used to create the life-like copper sculptures. The sculptures were created by the renowned award-winning CG artist Meats Meier, whose film credits include Hollywood blockbusters Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and Hellboy.

When the NRL approached Sydney shop Three Drunk Monkeys to develop a way to increase club membership, their solution was to treat members as the key signings for the approaching 2008 NRL season. A series of press conferences were set up where leading NRL players, coaches and management showed their support for members who were interviewed about their decision to sign on with their team. The response was overwhelming with members flying interstate to take part in the event. This concept from CumminsNitro uses a common begging tool – a piece of cardboard – and puts a twist on the hand-written message. The Vaseline brand proposition of “Keeping Skin Amazing” is demonstrated in an unique, interactive way rarely used by brands – touch. An example of skin’s sensitivity is in the reading simple statement “Your Skin Is Amazing” written in Braille, and underlined in type. Ambient stickers on handrails, hangstraps, shopping trolley handles, were also used. As a print ad and DM Zo-Card the tactile work actually ended up in people’s hands to touch for themselves.

To stir up the competition, Mark BBDO, Prague sent a delivery guy from Pizza Coloseum to other pizza places in the city. He shouted "Who ordered pizza from Pizza Coloseum?“ And they shot the reactions of people with hidden cameras. The event itself happened in two waves in a few dozen Prague pizzerias. The video was also used as viral video and as part of the client‘s web self presentation.

Ogilvy London's objective was to raise awareness of Ford Galaxy's comprehensive, 9 airbag, safety system. The execution was an ambient campaign targeting parents. The idea used massive blow up nozzles/valves, which were fitted to roadside objects to make them appear inflatable. The campaign ran in London around high footfall areas to maximise visibility.

After a brief stint at BBDO London in 1989 Malcolm joined the start-up OMON, in Sydney, Australia.
After a couple of years with The Campaign Palace, Melbourne yet another start-up beckoned, M&C Saatchi London. As deputy creative director Malcolm was responsible for many famous British Airways ads including the 'Johnny Foreigner' campaign featuring P.J. O'Rourke.
In 2001 Malcolm was appointed ECD at Saatchi & Saatchi Australia. They won Australian Television Awards Agency of the Year, the Caxton Chairman's print award, Folio Magazine Grand Prix, and was the first Australian agency to feature in The Gunn Report.
Since joining Ogilvy London as ECD in 2003 highlights include Dove's Campaign For Real Beauty becoming the world's 'most talked about' campaign, reaching 18m people for free by flooding Second Life to promote Adventure Ecology, Cancer Research UK's 'smoke is poison' campaign becoming the most awarded integrated campaign of '07 and creating the Evil Twin viral films that featured on the acclaimed TV show, Top Gear.
Malcolm's award count includes numerous Cannes Lions for Film, Print, Outdoor, Direct and Cyber, a couple of London International Grand Prix, a few D&AD silver pencils, a bunch of Clio awards and One Show pencils too.


If people really are exposed to 1200 odd ads each day we'd all feel much better knowing they at least enjoyed some of them, I'm sure. So let's see which country, city, shopping centre or indeed bookmark-user has the good fortune to be entertained by an ad this week.

BEST TV
In contrast to much of the stuff we see on the net, all these films are well made. But for me, there are just two standout films this week - Trident and Monster. Trident has made an interesting piece of film for their 'soft' gum. I like the film but I don't see how a legal substance such as gum can 'mess with your head'; so I'm not sure I really like the ad (if saying that ain't messing with your head too much). Monster, on the other hand, have turned the not-so-fresh, age-old cliche of a Stork delivering a baby into something epic, entertaining and powerful. So, at the end of the day I'd say it's the Monster spot that will truly mess with the viewer's head. I mean, how could anyone possibly disappoint the stork?

There's no competition this week, Cadbury Dairy Milk is enticingly simple and manages to say everything a client could possibly want without so much as an unnecessary word on the page.

BEST OUTDOOR
For those who wondered where the stains on rental car seat came from, now you know, thanks to the Thrifty rent-a-car Valentines Day ad. Moving right along - the Juice Salon 'hairstyles' is a great use of escalators and seems to be entertaining everyone within the confines of the shopping mall. This is the kind of 'outdoor' that surprises people and might even get them talking, in a 'did you see that escalator?' kind of way. Meanwhile, perhaps not half as entertaining but certainly the most thought provoking outdoor this week, the National Sea Rescue 'lifesaving bookmark'. It may do just that, help save a kid's life. And who said advertising wasn't a matter of life or death, eh?
