This exercise was carried out in their immediate neighbourhoods. 7 UP holds a contest every year before the most successful Indian Premier League T20 Tournament begins where a team of 7 boys from all over Tamil Nadu, South India are selected to form the 7 UP Pattalam (Brigade) This brigade is made to play a match with the mighty Chennai Super Kings (One of the teams and the Winners of Indian Premier League T20 2010).
Owing to the huge success of the Pattalam campaigns in the last 2 years, this year the idea was to make the boys of 7 UP Pattalam to be literally superheroes who take on Chennai Super Kings.This film from BBDO, Delhi is set in a dosa stall in small town Trichy, Tamil Nadu. There is commotion happening outside a food stall as people are clamouring for dosas (South Indian Rice made Pan cakes). 'First Floor Bar and Restaurant' is a little known beer bar located in Asia's largest IT hub, Nehru Place, New Delhi, India. They approached McCann Erickson India with their problem of not being able to attract too many customers to the bar - their presence getting lost amongst the millions of electronic shops and signboards around. So we came up with an unique solution.The response to this quirky activation-experiment was overwhelming. The bar reported a 62% increase in footfall in a fortnight ! In a country where experimental advertising is only coming to age, the success of this activation is hopefully going to convince many more clients to experiment with fresh and fun alternative techniques of advertising.
