Rodrigo de Castro

Copywriter at DDB NY

Rodrigo de Castro

Biography

After starting his career at Young & Rubicam Lisbon, Rodrigo worked at Jung von Matt Hamburg and Wieden+Kennedy Sao Paulo before being recruited to DDB New York in 2012 where, in his first year, he created the award winning campaign Les Ballets de FAILE, which was one of the most awarded campaigns of the year, collecting more than 15 statues from all the major advertising festivals, including gold at both New York Festivals and London International Awards. It was also added to the permanent collection archive at the Museum of Modern Art.

Rodrigo’s work was partially credited with DDB New York’s creative resurgence, winning the agency’s first Cannes Lions trophies in 19 years and helping the agency to be named as ‘2013’s Agency to Watch’ by Creativity Online and the 'Most Awarded US Agency' at the 2013 LIA.

In 2013, Rodrigo was a jury member at the One Show Student Competition and the One Show Client Pitch. He was also part of a selected team of young creatives chosen to attend the London International Awards Creative Conversations in Las Vegas.

Rodrigo is currently a Copywriter at DDB New York.
