Biography

A surfer, husband, father and DJ (in no particular order), Thierry is first and foremost a creative head in constant search of the next big thing for the greater good of brands, people, the world, music and, communication, wherever this may be. Homeless for most of his life, Thierry has spent the last 29 years in Asia Pacific, living and working in Bangkok, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo and Hong Kong, and travelling through many cities in between.

As recently appointed Executive Creative Director of Publicis Hong Kong, Thierry is tasked with overseeing the overall creative output of the office on all its major clients. These include AXA, Marriott Hotels and UBS for the region, Tempo, Citibank, Cartier, Kerry Property, BNP, etc. Along with the management team, he is also looking at building a strong centre of creative excellence, enabling the delivery of effective strategic and creative integrated solutions.

Prior to his appointment, Thierry spent 30 months as Executive Creative Director and de facto Asia Pacific creative head of Commonwealth//McCann’s Bangkok – McCann Worldgroup’s dedicated agency of record for General Motors Chevrolet, where he oversaw advertising and marketing for Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Fiji and Papua New Guinea. He and his teams were responsible for developing the creative in this region, as well as the implementation of global guidelines and campaigns. He was also a member of the global Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the development of the agency and participating in building global creative platforms for Chevrolet.

Previously, Thierry spent 8 years on McCann's Cathay Pacific Central Team based in Hong Kong, where he grew from Senior Creative Director in charge of all digital output and loyalty programmes to global Executive Creative Director overseeing the entire creative output: digital, TVCs, print and outdoor, as well as below-the-line collaterals for Hong Kong and 27 countries worldwide. On his watch, he helped the airline build its reputation as an innovative powerhouse that was not shy to experiment with new technologies to present its products and services.

Jury duties aside, his support of the advertising industry is vast, and over the years he has contributed his spare time and efforts to the development and promotion of ADMA (Asian Digital Marketing Association) as head of the Marketing Consulting Group Committee and, to the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents of Hong Kong (HK4As) as Chairman of its Digital and Interactive Committee, as well as its Creative Committee for several years. Thierry is also a frequent guest lecturer at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

With over 15 years of fully integrated advertising experience, and building his credentials in the digital space, Thierry is a passionate, award-winning creative director whose dedication has contributed to the development of major international brands.

Despite his nomadic pattern, Thierry calls Hong Kong home and, at 15 years, the city he’s spent the most time in.
