Bangladesh is a country of approximately 17 crores of people. Among them almost 9 crores are women and sadly a majority of these women are getting harassed by men of sick mentality hiding behind a mask. A mask that hides their true selves from people!
To reveal their true face in front of mass people Xpart launch a campaign ''মুখ ও মুখোশ" on "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women". We wanted to reveal the faces behind the masks who are the main culprit instead of showing faces of the victims. Because we felt, the practice of using victims face instead of the culprits should be changed and we should speak up.
In this campaign, We published an album consists of six static contents in Facebook where every static content symbolizes a real life scenario of how women are being harassed even by the people we think are so good, or innocent! Every character has two faces here, on in front of everybody and one beneath the good mask, hiding, only revealed in front of the victim. After publishing the album it became a major hit quite instantly. On Facebook, it's been shared over 2000 times and got thousands of likes and comments. Many groups has shared, discussed and appreciated our idea and execution.
Women from all across the country reached to us sharing their experiences through comments and inbox messages. They thanked us whole heatedly for raising up the matter and agreed we should change our practice of using victims face and start using the culprits face everywhere.
And no we see a positive change everywhere. Women are not silent anymore. They started raising their voices and revealing the masks of these kind of persons. Media is now also aware of not using victim's face anymore. Main culprits faces are getting viral.
We wanted to start a movement. We wanted to use social media as a platform where people start realizing why this International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is for. We wanted to raise the voice when not many brands did. And the positive response from all over the country made us realize, we did the right thing!
