Volkswagen: The Beetle’s Abbey Road – Reparked Edition

Top 6: October 9th 2019
In 1969, a Volkswagen Beetle was wrongly parked on the sidewalk of Abbey Road in London. What the driver probably didn’t expect was that the car would end up on one of the world’s most iconic photos. Now, 50 years later, Volkswagen has re-parked the car to highlight their Park Assist technology. Introducing The Beetle’s Abbey Road – Reparked Edition, a brand new vinyl cover with a perfectly parked Beetle. In 1969, an attempt at parallel parking was made when a lotus white Volkswagen Beetle mounted the curb, leaving half of the car resting on the sidewalk of Abbey Road. The Beetle ended up in the background of one of the world’s most iconic photos. Back then, Volkswagen didn’t have Park Assist technology. But today they do, which is why they are righting old wrongs and re-parking the car, just to show how far Volkswagen technology has come in 50 years.
