Leading online travel agency Travelocity and recently appointed creative agency-of-record, Austin-based Proof Advertising, have launched their first major campaign together, putting the brand’s beloved Roaming Gnome front and centre. The national brand campaign promotes Travelocity membership, which gives travellers added perks. Membership is free and unlocks benefits like an easier end-to-end user experience, personalised deals sent to travellers’ inbox and additional member-only discounts on select hotels. The ‘Wish You Were Here’ campaign gives the Roaming Gnome a starring role as the seasoned world traveller, depicting him in various destinations while he shares the benefits of Travelocity membership. While the Roaming Gnome was already a regular presence in Travelocity’s advertising, this works casts him in the leading role.
