THE NEW VODAFONE SMART PARENTS+ BY WUNDERMAN THOMPSON

To mark Children’s Day in Portugal, Vodafone has launched a new model that encourages parents to dedicate even more time to their children. The project is idea of Wunderman Thompson Portugal.

Vodafone launched a campaign that marks Children's Day in a different way. As a telecommunications company, the brand decided to celebrate this day with the launch of a new device designed for families with children: the Vodafone Smart Parents+.

As usual in new technological products launches, a presentation video of the new Vodafone Smart Parents+ was released promising features such as “unlimited calls”, “total compatibility” or “endless battery”. But this time, what indicated to be the latest smartphone in the “Vodafone Smart” range, proved to be a toy phone made with cups – like those used by children to reproduce sound through the vibrations of a connected wire to two or more cups.

This launch served, after all, as a campaign to remember the importance of spending time with children, especially on this day. That’s because it is more and more complicated to parents manage daily tasks and have quality time with their children when we are permanently connected, and calls and notifications become a constant in everyday life.

In order to encourage parents and children to create their own Vodafone Smart Parents+ together on this day, the model and instructions for the new device were also made available to the public on a product page with all its features.

At the same time, boxes for the new device were developed and prototypes of the new Smart Parents+ were sent to popular influencers and their children.
