AVA Stories sheds light on a phenomenon that affects many women. The problem with dickpics extends beyond AVA's scope, but with this initiative they want to give women the opportunity to turn the unwanted images into something that can actually be exciting. Men who send unwanted dick pics do it more for their own arousal rather than for the recipient's. AVA Stories is for women who want to explore their sexuality and their fantasies without stigma and limitations. We want to put women's sexuality in focus and offer them something that actually arouses their desire, unlike unwanted dick pics, says co-founder Rosanna Thun. The idea and the technical solution are developed by NORD DDB. The unwanted images are scanned directly on the phone using an image recognition algorithm, which determines if it is a dick pic or not. The images never leave the user’s phone and are never saved. Everything happens automatically, without anyone at AVA having to see unwanted dick pics. The starting shot for the campaign is a print ad with the message "Go fuck yourself" which was published recently. "Go fuck yourself" is intended as both an invitation to explore oneself and a finger to those who stigmatize or disregard female desire. Now the campaign continues with the same attitude when AVA tackles the dick pic phenomenon, says co-founder Linnéa Taube. As of now, AVA Stories is only available in Swedish, but keep an eye on AVA – there will be more exciting news in the near future. The campaign is open to anyone over the age of 18 and runs until 28th of February 2022.
