cumminsnitro, Melbourne brought this radical animated concept for KMART to us and we combined different techniques including 3D, 2D and live action to give an “anything goes” feel to the TVC, inspired by the freedom of kids imaginations.
This action packed TVC starts with a brother and sister setting up a slot-car race in their rumpus room. As they begin to play, their imagination takes control, seeping into the real world. Finally, the kids are transitioned into a vivid, fast paced and action packed animated car race. The kids race together against a lineup of crazy toys around a stadium made of elements from the rumpus room.

Sixty40 created a range of custom toy designs to take part in the race. As a result there's a lot of detail through out the spot, in the toy characters as well as in the action.
The track, race cars and key toy characters close to the track are 3D and rendered to feel real but a bit magical. 2D characters make up the majority of the background scenes integrating well with the 3D toy characters creating a unique look and feel.
