DCM Shriram Foundation: HAUNTED
In an Indian village, a group of medical workers are seeing off a pregnant woman and her husband after her check up. The young assistant named Mohan looks disturbed as he watches another woman staring at him.
After the couple leaves, Mohan goes and sits under a tree, weeping, looking at his mother's photo on his tablet. When the doctor enquires, a teary-eyed Mohan admits that every time a pregnant woman comes visiting, he sees his dead mother who died while giving birth to him. The doctor comforts him that he has chosen to do something noble by replacing the loss of his mother with thousands of blessings from new mothers. The film ends on a happy note where the medical workers celebrate the news of a baby girl born to another village woman. At the end of the film, we see the Medical Health Unit (Van) leaving the village district after a day's work, even as the Supers inform of India's High Risk Pregnancies and high Maternal Mortality Rate. The Supers also inform how DCM Shriram Foundation is helping to reduce the risk through the Medical Health Unit services and hoping to lower the mortality rate of mothers, so that more children in India grow up with mothers instead of just memories.
