Anti Rape campaign: PrisonTop 6: March 22nd 2006
Rape is shockingly common in the UK and rates of both reporting and conviction are low. In order to improve the situation the law has been amended to put greater onus on the defence proving they had reasonable grounds to assume active consent rather than the onus on victim to prove active rejection. But its imperative to shift the mindset of the general public in line with this amendment if this revised law is to be effective
RKCR/Y&Rs campaign aims to shift the debate around rape from No means No (which places the emphasis on the victims responsibility to make it clear their denial of consent) to emphasising the mans responsibility to get active consent make sure you've really had a yes, or you could go to prison for rape.
