It’s winter season again…Time for a flurry of resort ads featuring generic smiling skiers. Which is why the latest campaign created by creative indie agency David&Goliath for Mammoth Mountain stands out. It delivers on Mammoth Mountain’s “Play Big” positioning while still capturing the ski resort’s unique California personality. Titled “Birds of Mammoth,” the effort resembles more of an Audubon poster than an ad campaign. Using hand-drawn custom illustrations, the creative calls out all the creatures found flying above California’s biggest playground. Indigenous birds include the sexy “California Winged Cougar,” the slightly intoxicated “Naked Pale Aler” and the snow-covered “White-Tailed Yard Saler.” Not to mention the newest species to grace the Mammoth skies, Horizon Air. From print and posters, to web, radio and jumbo signs at the airport, the campaign will be seen throughout Northern and Southern California.
