1916. Seachtar na Casca (the Easter seven) is a seven part series that tells the story of seven normal men who led a rising against English rule in Ireland. These seven men signed the proclamation of independence and thus literally signed their own death warrants for their dream of Irish freedom. After the rising all seven were shot by the British for their leadership of the 1916 rising. Now, the main crux and idea of the series is to show the everyday lives of these men before they got caught up in the revolution. It shows that these men, who gave their lives for Ireland were not trained soldiers but normal men from normal walks of life. In order to illustrate this Publicis QMP placed the seven men in their everyday dress as a poet, barrister, union official, lecturer, piper and a tobacconist and placed them in front of a firing squad awaiting their imminent death.
