For the Relaunch of 13TH STREET Universal on March 14th 2011- the channel for Thrill & Crime - Jung von Matt/Spree developed an integrated campaign. In the centre is an interactive live event in which the audiences literally become witnesses:
"The Witness - The first movie in the outernet."
In the spectacular mix of film and Real-Life-Game, an exclusive audience can get a very close experience of a personal thriller in Berlin.
With GPS and especially developed software for iPhone, the player sees the kidnapping of a young woman directly at the place of the crime. Therefore the audience becomes the witness and afterwards he finds himself in a hunt with the kidnappers straight through Berlin.
The Smartphone will be an essential tool with which the witness can navigate, collect evidence and communicate with allies and opponents. Thus the player is directed to the different Locations, e.g., to a neglected hacker flat, in a red light bar or in a somber warehouse. The player can recall movies with this Smartphone and thus he is enabled to set piece by piece of the crimes together.
This event is flanked and promoted by a print campaign, cinema and TV commercials as well as extensive online communication.
To realize the project, the same partners of the very successful project “Last Call”, which won several Awards last year, worked together again. Draught and idea was delivered by Jung von Matt/Spree. @radical.media was responsibly for the production and the Powerflasher could be won for the programming of the Smartphone App.
