APF is launching a campaign this week to condemn the inaccessibility of many public places.
Despite the government’s official commitment to make France more accessible by the first of January 2015, progress is dangerously behind schedule and far too many public venues remain inaccessible to people with disabilities.

Places that are not accessible for all people are inherently places that discriminate by excluding certain people.
The campaign slogan “Let’s ban the obstacles that keep some people out” is a call to action that advocates a society that’s open to all kinds of people, where everyone has equal access to everything. Three striking visuals zoom in on places where most people go everyday, each of which has an obstacle for people with disabilities: steps at the entrance, cramped lavatories or tight doorways.

National and local media plans will ensure widespread exposure all across the country from mid-November until early 2013. Coverage will include standard broadcast and digital TV (TNT) channels, web banners, print and outdoor advertising. A flash-code on the posters will allow direct access to a dedicated web page on APF’s website.
