Jim Beam Devil's Cut RTD: Sell Your Status to the Devil

Jim Beam asked how Young & Shand New Zealand could introduce their Facebook fans and their friends to their latest product 'Devil's Cut RTD'. So we got to thinking, what would the Devil do if he was on Facebook? We asked Jim Beam fans if they would voluntarily sell their Facebook status to the Devil in return for a chance to win a Devil's Cut RTD package. We created a Facebook app that asked people to connect through Facebook’s open graph which allowed us to have control of their status updates.
Upon doing that, users were in the draw for a Devil's Cut prize pack. Then, at a random time over the next two weeks, our application took one of their status and posted to all of their friends on Facebook.

Jim Beam fans came back to their Facebook accounts to see status' like "Just saw my Mum in the shower, not bad" and "Click like for a nude selfie" gathering likes and comments from their friends.
We wrote over a hundred devilish status' that would be posted on peoples accounts, based on their sex, relationship status and other demographic information.
Hijacked status' have proven to be highly engaging with the average post generating 8 comments, likes or shares from unsuspecting friends.
But most importantly, the 'victims' actively promote the new Devils Cut RTD when they explain that they had sold their status to the Devil.
