If we share everything in our lives, why not share life itself? Under this motto, we took over the Share Button on Namibia's major news and entertainment sites to link the act of sharing to the gift of blood donation. For the World Health Organization's 'World Blood Donor Day' Advantage Y&R Nambia "recruited" THE social media icon, the share button, to raise awareness for the need for blood donation: Whenever someone tried to share an article with friends, one of our pop-ups appeared instead, inviting the user to make a share that really makes a difference: To share blood, or life itself. The pop-up linked to the World Health Organization's Facebook profile, which we also took over. Here we engaged the users with inspiring and informative posts about blood donation, and of course information on where they can share their blood at their local donation stations
