In Mexico, people doesn't respect handicapped reserved parking spots, they park in those places because they feel like there's no harm done to those wo need them and there’s no real consequences.Together with 2 important Mexican universities Mescalina Mexico developed Handy Park, for the transit department in Morelia. Handy Park is a device to monitor handicapped reserved parking spots.Handy Park monitor when a vehicle is approaching to a reserved spot, it scans the plates and search for a sticker to identify the handicapped sign. If the vehicle doesn’t have one handy park notifies the user and asks him to move to a different spot, if the user still parks a ticket is sent to the transit department and prints a copy for the offender.Handy park is helping to create social conscience and getting people to understand that disrespecting handicapped spots has its consequences.
