Stella Artois: The Perfect Flight

Using 360 VR technology we give people the immersive experience of flight from Rufus’ point of view as he flies over Wimbledon Tennis club on his morning patrol chasing off unwanted pigeons. By designing an installation that will live at Waterloo Train Station we utilise a motion table programmed to match Rufus’ flight path simulating the feeling of actual flight. VR gives you opportunity to experience things you truly couldn’t experience any other way, pretty good approximation of what it’s like of being bird. 360 spacial sound design supports the story by giving viewers a notion of Wimbledon history as the echoes of great matches, commentary and crowd reaction are built into the experience.

The project follows up the series of films ‘The Perfectionist’ with Mother, Rufus was one of the films: about pigeon problem at Wimbledon and how getting a hawk dealt with it. Rufus is now an extension of that film, VR carries the experience in many ways giving it more immersive density.

The experience will be available including installation at Wimbledon for visitors; an installation was presented at Waterloo train station; it's also downloadable on Google Cardboard and available on a microsite.
