Samsung teamed up with Emmy Award nominee Issa Rae and award-winning music video director Lacey Duke to celebrate Issa during her big moment. By reflecting on Issa’s major milestones – from Awkward Black Girl to her nomination to air during the 2018 Primetime Emmy Awards, Samsung intends to celebrate Issa Rae and also inspire other creators at large with the commercial. As part of Samsung’s “Do What You Can’t” campaign, the :30-second ad highlights Samsung’s mission to empower creators to break barriers and achieve the impossible. A longtime Galaxy Note fan, Issa Rae is the living embodiment of Samsung’s “Do What You Can’t” motto and has been able to use the power of technology to propel her vision in entertainment. Designed for those who want it all, the Galaxy Note9 is Samsung’s most powerful smartphone yet. It features an AI-powered camera and 1TB-ready storage options, the Galaxy Note9 is the perfect device for any aspiring creator. In addition the Note9 ad, Samsung will also air commercials highlighting the all-new Galaxy Watch and Tab S4 during the Emmy Awards. To celebrate the launch, Issa Rae will use a portion of the earnings from her partnership with Samsung to celebrate the great strides multicultural communities have made in Hollywood this year. Though the “Celebrate the Culture” event she will celebrate the diversity and culture at large with an intimate post-Emmy party. We’ll also follow up with photo assets tomorrow morning.
