Hyena Editorial’s Keith Salmon has edited a new spot for Chevrolet that tells the tale of two American icons through the prism of a single football play. Conceived by Campbell-Ewald and directed by MJZ’s Phil Joanou, the 60-second commercial features football imagery spanning different eras and different levels of play, from kids playing in an alley in the ‘30s to New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees celebrating. The entire montage, has been set against the John Mellencamp anthem Our Country, and put together in such a way as to form a single narrative—a Hail Mary pass.
Said Campbell-Ewald senior vice president/executive producer Joe Knisely: "Salmon and Joanou were natural choices for the project as each has a lot of experience in working with football related material. Salmon’s credits include the Oliver Stone film Any Given Sunday as well as a well known series of football spots for Nike featuring comedian Jerry Stiller. Joanou directed the 2006 film Gridiron Gang."

The Post Office in the UK has launched a new advertising campaign via new agency, Mother London. The campaign kills off the long-running animated ants from the previous Post Office ads in favour of celebrities. The first ad features Joan Collins as the first customer to visit a Post Office branch. Other celebrities set to appear in future executions include Bill Oddie, Westlife, and Keith Harris and Orville. The fictional Post Office team in the ad is led by sub-postmaster Ken, played by John Henshaw, whose has previously appeared in 'The Royle Family' and 'Life on Mars'.

To promote Nike’s new five-a-side football initiative, Wieden & Kennedy London commissioned Draw Pictures director, Michael Williams, to create a strikingly visual viral campaign. The resulting five films – each representing a killer move, a.k.a ‘The Deadly 5’ – have incredibly high production values by normal viral standards.
The films pit slow-mo football action (shot at 900 fps, using a Weisscam HD rig) in an industrial, unearthly midnight world of time-lapse photography. The unusual juxtaposition of speeds in a single shot creates a distinct aesthetic style whilst functionally demonstrating Nike’s five essential five-a-side skills.
