https://www.bestadsontv.com/news/upload/Screen%20shot%202011-07-19%20at%2010.54.31%20PM.jpgThis week's guest judge is Damian Fitzgerald, copywriter at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco.

He previously spent three years at Three Drunk Monkeys in Sydney where he helped create the successful BBC Knowledge campaigns with Art Director Matt Heck. He has received accolades at every international show, including multiple acceptances into D&AD, achieving three acceptances into the Writing category in the past two years alone.

BEST TV
Winner - 1882 Fernet..
Runner Up - Money Supermarket. The stronger category this week I felt. I'll go with Money Supermarket as runner up. It's not a new premise - man saves money and feels great, but it has some funny moments and I like the trashy effects. Plus, any ad that features a tan oil fireball is to be commended.
My favorite was the ridiculously abstract 1882 Fernet spot. It's completely insane and the direction is fantastic. I think the message is just telling us to "relax with a Fernet" but it could be "don't eat airlifted pen lids". Either way I've watched it about ten times and it still fascinates. It's the best of the bunch.

BEST PRINT
Winner - Yatra.com.
Runner Up - Guardian Dental Floss.
Yatra is the stand out winner for me. Simple, fresh and effective like good press should be. But wow, (prepare for hilarity) I can't believe they went to all those countries for a press ad.
Runner up is Guardian Dental Floss. The line seems a little familiar however and the casting seems mismatched, the female tooth being way hotter than her boyfriend.

BEST OUTDOOR
Winner - Tourism Toronto.
Runner Up - Nike.
I do enjoy it when Outdoor is interactive.
Tourism Toronto has created The Cheating Wall - an interactive portal in which rival Torontonians and Montrealers can peer into each other's cities and see what's happening (sounds like a News International idea). The wall consists of HD video panels, cameras, sensors and speakers, allowing people to interact with each other. I like.
Runner up is Nike, simple and nice looking.

BEST INTERACTIVE
Winner - Wheel of Concept.
Runner Up - Whipple Roast.
The Wheel of Concept - PR version sneaks the win. You may have seen its digital predecessor. You pop a brand name in, spin the wheel and get an instant PR solution for your client. Still nice but it's a shame they haven't pushed it on more.
The Whipple Roast is a good runner up. Sure, it's technically a modern day 'leaving card' but that's what I like about it. Plus there's something fun about having people rally 'round to insult you in front of a large audience. Reminds me of my school days.
That's all. Be well.
