Nexus Productions directors Pic Pic Andre have created two comical 40” films for Cravendale milk highlighting the brands fun and kooky personality and it’s new strapline, ‘It’s Not Just Any Milk, It’s Filtered To Make It Purer’.

‘The Last Glass’ and ‘Out Of Stock’ for Cravendale are in the spirit of their trademark style and feature three unique and distinct characters – a cyclist, a pirate and a cow.

The two films show how the characters will go to any lengths to get hold of their beloved Cravendale milk.  In ‘Last Glass’ the three house-mates realise that they only have enough milk to fill one glass so organize an impromptu game of musical statues to see who should win this last glass.  The wily cyclist wins by replacing himself with a cardboard cut-out and the other two shriek in horror as he drinks the milk with a moustachioed grin.

‘Out Of Stock’ sees them visiting the supermarket only to find that the last carton of Cravendale has been sold.   Cue a rollercoaster ride in their shopping trolley along busy winding roads and a spaghetti junction in search of the Cravendale dairy. Along the way, the trio have an almighty crash, rather coincidentally, into a Cravendale delivery lorry full of cartons. When they regain consciousness, they see they are surrounded by hundreds of cartons of Cravendale milk and begin to celebrate – they’ve gone to milk heaven!

By using stop motion Pic Pic Andre gives the trio a home-made and accessible feel.  Mass produced model figures of the characters were broken and re-painted so that each of them had over 30 different poses which were replaced in each frame.  This particularly gives them a characterful way of moving which is raw, charming and quite unique to them.  Pic Pic Andre’s work is very much about the humour of each scene.  A specialist model-maker hand-crafted the Cravendale bottles in resin to make them look as realistic as the real thing.

Producer Julia Parfitt commented, “As soon as the scripts arrived we knew this was going to be a fun project to work on. We had been looking for something for Pic Pic Andre for sometime and this was designed specifically with them in mind and fit perfectly with their distinctive style.  The enjoyment factor is really a huge part of what these are about and I hope people like them as much as we do. “
