Tarjeta Cencosud is a credit card designed for lower-to-middle class families. Its main objective is to help fulfill the wishes and needs of all family members by offering great deals and discounts for all of them. Because of the complex economic situation in Argentina, this year the brand had decided not to develop a 2019 branding campaign. But Wunderman Thompson BA approached Tarjeta Cencosud with a real story they saw on the news: a family that challenged Argentina's economic crisis - and any financial obstacle.
The agency got inspired by the story of Mariana and Matías Cifuentes; an Argentinian couple that made the decision to adopt a child but ended up adopting a little girl and her four siblings because they didn’t want to separate them. This couple took the most important decision of their lives without focusing on the economics, but on the family. Together with Gizmo -the award-winning animation studio-, Wunderman Thompson BA created an animated film that showcases Tarjeta Cencosud as the sponsor of this family and the many others that give everything they can to those they love the most, every day. This way, Tarjeta Cencosud decided to create a campaign which includes a spot aired on TV, online platforms and cinemas; audio spots for radio, prints and outdoor pieces on a nationwide level.
