Design-led content creation studio Ataboy has brought to life a dance video series for Brooklyn-based gallery Art Cake.
Helmed by Ataboy Director Corydon Wagner, the five-part series celebrates the talent, voices, and narratives behind some of NYC’s most notable choreographers. The dance videos include “Scene 1: Classicism Unraveled” by Eva Alt, “Ties to Leisure” by Catherine Kirk, “Hidden Anatomies” by Adam Barruch and Chelsea Bonosky, as well as “Details of a sequence” and “A Brief Dissolve” by Morgan Griffin. Embracing a live performance-esque style of filmmaking, each piece was shot on location at Art Cake. VFX techniques range from data moshing (“Hidden Anatomies”) to motion tracking (“A Brief Dissolve”).
