Grabbing the crowds attention was vital to the success of the Kia campaign from Innocean, Vancouver. Two breathtaking 80" screens displayed the call-to-action, backed by large-scale print that spanned the cavernous walls inside BC Place.A custom management tool was developed to aggregate tweets posted on Twitter in real-time. This system would trigger an interactive experience that consisted of multiple music tracks, a custom lighting set-up build into the Kia Rio, and users Tweets broadcast on the 80" screens all occurring simultaneously. The tweets could be displayed on location during gameday, or remotely for fans who were unable to catch the Whitecaps in action. Needless to say, this head-turning activation drew plenty of attention during the three most vital times to attract impressions: pre-game, half-time, and post-game.
Due to the success of the campaign, the Kia activation will be a long-term home for all fans to enjoy.
