Biography

Jeff Smith -- CMO of Malaria No More -- is not a typical marketing professional. Rather, he is an entrepreneurial executive who founded and grew several marketing firms within various niche markets from start-up to millions in annual sales through effective business planning, innovative marketing, unique branding and positioning strategies. Jeff brings over 15 years of general management, marketing strategy and business development to his role, and is responsible for the company's global marketing strategy and functions including brand awareness, donor base building, business-to-consumer and national marketing, and communications.

Prior to joining Malaria No More, he was founder and CEO of GRI Studios where he led the company's, and client's brand strategies and execution programs, communications, corporate relations, and integrated marketing functions. Jeff forged tremendous success developing marketing strategies for Cingular Wireless, ATT, Comcast, Young Life, Qwest Communications, and Red Bull.

Simultaneously, Jeff championed the global message for the people of Darfur through creating Exhibit Darfur, an artistic collaboration between Jeff, Mia Farrow, Brian Steidle and key individuals in the fight to end the genocide in Sudan. From Harvard to Hollywood, Jeff successfully integrated celebrity, politics, and educational institutions to form an effective and world renowned advocacy tool for the cause.

Before GRI, Jeff led integrated marketing and merchandising programs, where he was responsible for go-to-market initiatives, campaign execution, events, online marketing, and out-of-home media for such companies as McGraw Hill Publications, Ford Motors, and Wrangler Jeans.

Jeff brings an extraordinary track record of success to Malaria No More with his entrepreneurial spirit, creative marketing mind, outside-of-the-box experience, global perspective, and passionate heart for change.

Jeff holds a Bachelors degree from the Miami University, Richard T. Farmer School of Business Administration, with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. He resides in the New York City area with his wife, Bonnie, and son, Owen.
