Dale McGuinness

Art Director

Dale McGuinness

Biography

Unusually for an art director Dale started his career with lines – studying architecture at Adelaide University. He soon decided that he preferred graphic design, eventually landing a plum job as a studio visualiser at Adelaides best agency at the time – Y&R Adelaide. From the studio, he moved into an art director role after completing AWARD School.

After 7 years at Y&R, he decided to spread his wings and move to Sydney in 2002 to work at Batey Kazoo. Dale later joined BMF in late 2003 where he would stay for 4 years and have to date his biggest achievement – the launch of the Sam Kekovich UnAustralian lamb campaign.

From BMF he spent some time freelancing in Australia and New Zealand before returning to Adelaide in late 2007 for a senior role at KWP Adelaide.

Dale has been involved creatively on many pitch wins including MBF Health Insurance, Meadow Lea margarine, Australian Electoral Commission, Dairy Farmers, 3 Mobile Broadband, South Australian Tourism Commission and most recently the merger between Savings & Loans and Australian Central Credit Union.

His awards to date include a Bronze Lion at Cannes, finalist at One Show and New York Festivals, Australian Outdoor ad of the year, ad of the year at the inaugural Siren Awards and numerous other local Australian awards.

Dale is currently freelancing in 2011.
