Ben O'Brien


Ben O'Brien is Creative Director at Banjo Advertising, helping to lead a small creative team develop extraordinary work for clients including Crown Resorts, The Real Pet Food Company, Nando's, AMP and a selection of NSW Government departments.

He works across all communication disciplines, with a particular interest in emerging tech and web development, and is proficient in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, AngularJS, Node.js, Express, MongoDB and most other frameworks required to produce immersive digital experiences.

Prior to this, Ben ran his own creative agency, O’Shea & O’Brien, producing advertising, activation, event and digital ideas for clients including Red Bull, Air Niugini, 42Below Vodka and Sara Lee.

Ben has been an Associate Creative Director at JWT Sydney, and a Creative Group Head at DDB Sydney, where he helped the agency win Campaign Brief Agency of the Year, AdNews Agency of the Year and Creative Magazine ‘Advertising Hotshop’.

Ben’s work has been recognised both locally and internationally at award shows including Cannes, Clio, The One Show, The New York Festivals, AWARD, ADMA, Folio, The Caxtons, The Siren Radio Awards, The Global Awards and The Melbourne Art Directors Club.

In previous lives, Ben has been a fashion designer and a casino blackjack dealer. He has a passion for cars he cannot afford and talking about himself in the third person.
