Working with TBWAVancouver, The Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) has recently completed its always-anticipated in-theatre spots and a new design for the festival, which kicks off on October 1st and goes until the 16th. This year’s theme is 'An Open Mind Is Advised', which tips a hat to the fact that the subject matter and international nature of many films at the festival are best viewed with an open mind. The theme was brought to life with 3 in-theatre spots and a new design of the poster and program book. The spots (Sexuality, Subtitles, and Disturbing) all play off the warnings that are commonly seen before movies. For instance, the Sexualtiy spot begins with a voiceover saying 'The following film may contain scenes of sexuality' as a couple starts making out on a bed. The spot escalates to remind viewers that, during the festival, they might be exposed to some themes that require an open mind.
