Mercedes-Benz: Welcome

Gorgeous director Peter Thwaites delivers the story beautifully for the largest audience in television history during Super Bowl XLV: one by one, the Mercedes come to life on their own - in driveways, in museums, in garages and barns - their lights flipping on and their doors slamming shut. As they roll off into the night to the sounds of Janis Joplin singing, "Oh Lord, won't you buy me, a Mercedes-Benz," their panicked owners realize what's happening and sprint after their beloved machines. The single cars coalesce into a wild mob that represents every era of the luxury machine, taking over a freeway and slamming past a stunned toll collector. Their destination: the Mercedes-Benz dealership, where the four latest models sit - the culmination, as a narrator tells us, of 125 years of development.
