Title: KLM Flat or Not

Description: KLM Flat or Not: How do people react to a seat that suddenly reclines to fully flat?

KLM Flat or Not: How do people react to a seat that suddenly reclines to fully flat?

Background:
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines recently launched their new World Business Class, designed by Dutch design icon Hella Jongerius, that features unique seats that can transform into a comfortable full-flat beds. To introduce this new Business Class seat, DDB & Tribal Amsterdam created the campaign Flat or Not.

At KLM’s home base Amsterdam Airport Schiphol an ordinary airport waiting seat was replaced with a seat that could transform into a full-flat bed. When people unsuspectingly sat down on it, the seat reclined. But do people dare to relax in the middle of a busy airport? All reactions were filmed with hidden cameras and turned into a video. The video invites people to go to klm.com/flatornot, guess how travellers react ed and win two World Business Class tickets.

The new fully-flat seats exude personal attention while at the same time meeting all functional requirements. They are part of the new World Business Class section redesigned by Hella Jongerius. The Business Class of the whole KLM Boeing 747 fleet will be restyled by mid-2014. The redesign of the Boeing 777-200 fleet will start by the end of 2014, followed by the rest of the intercontinental fleet.
