In advance of Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors big game, ESPN debuted a spot featuring Warriors star Steph Curry, alongside SportsCenter anchors Stan Verrett and Neil Everett. In the 30-second commercial, titled “Chicken Curry,” the point guard thanks two confused ESPN cooks for – unknowingly– celebrating his victory by serving employees a chicken curry. Wieden + Kennedy New York is the creative agency for the “This is SportsCenter” franchise, which launched in 1995. Following the culinary theme, ESPN also joined Curry and his family in their home for a chicken curry installment of a “Kitchen Warriors” competition between Steph and his wife, chef Ayesha. The video, available digitally and socially, introduces Curry’s daughter, Riley, as the unrelenting judge. In the end, it’s clear that Steph’s winning dishes are solely reserved for the court.
