A Portland native, Susan Hoffman started her career as an art director at Pihas,
Schmidt, Westerdahl before moving to ChiatDay Seattle. Three years later she arrived at Wieden+Kennedy as employee No. 8 and has spent the last 29 years defining the agency’s culture and setting the bar for creative excellence.
Susan has a tendency to shake things up a bit. That's probably because she finds the status quo boring. She’s injected her unique perspective into some of the most memorable ads W+K has produced for virtually every client they’ve ever had. Susan is never satisfied unless the work feels fresh and interesting.
She’s worked as a creative director, opened both W+K’s Amsterdam and London offices, serving both as executive creative director, and she ran Wieden+Kennedy 12, their experimental ad school.
In her current role as executive creative director of the flagship office, she’s tasked with preserving what makes the agency special, continuing to nurture the creative talent within their walls and pushing forward to find new and different ways of working and thinking.
