Since the 2008 crisis in Portugal, a lot of people had financial problems. Unfortunately that meant cuts including abandoning pets, that has drastically increased in our country. Only in 2018 the number of abandoned dogs reached more than 14.000.
In order to alert the Portuguese population to this problem, Havas, Portugal, created a film for Animalife charity that speaks to their hearts and sense of guilt.
In a airport check out, an ordinary guy is held as suspect by a police dog that barks at him.
Because of this dog behavior the man suffers several inspections in order to check if he’s carrying drugs or other illegal items. During this period the dog continues to bark permanently, leaving the poor man to the worst situation: a final rectal inspection. And then to his surprise, the dog stops barking, and the man has a glimpse of an eye where he recalls from where he remembers that dog.
It is the dog he abandoned years before on a empty field. Karma's a dog, that's it. Because an abandoned dog never forgets.
