David Guerrero


Biography

David scribbled down "It's more fun in The Philippines" after emerging from a scuba dive in the island of Boracay. And within a few weeks it became an internationally-known meme. It went on to win a WARC Asia Grand Prix for Effectiveness and a decade later was used by Philippine Tourism. He also worked with Pantene to create a "Labels against Women" film which went a Grand Prix at AdFest and tens of millions of views worldwide. Another campaign for Pepsi won the first Lions for the country in multiple categories at Cannes and led to a Grand Prix at AdStars. Last year "The Dissolving Bottle" project brought another Grand Prix and a distribution deal across the UK and EU. He loves working with his talented and passionate team at BBDO Guerrero most of all and seeing them do well. Beyond work, he created a 50-minute audio documentary in 2021, with the BBC World Service entitled "When the Beatles didn't meet Imelda." He has an MLA in Creative Writing and Literature at Harvard Extension School (Class of 2023) and a book out called by Milflores Publishing called: "You have to go through a lot of crap to get to a good idea."
