Herbert takes pride in his 15-year advertising & musical career, which he started back in university when he graduated Magna Cum Laude in Advertising while being a guitarist and composer for Moonstar 88, a nationally renowned band in the Philippines. He was first hired by JWT as an art director, and then moved up to become a CD at DM9 where he scored multiple awards at Cannes and Spikes for his work on Mini, Smart, and the Department of Tourism.

At 32, he became an ECD at Y&R, where he helped the country receive its first APAC Effies metal. He also helped Y&R get its first win from the Agency of the Year awards, and Caltex Asia-Pacific its first Cannes Lion. And as if being an advertising rock star wasn't enough, he continues to play guitar after-hours for the bands Moonstar88 and 6cyclemind, with which he composed the one of the country's most streamed songs "Migraine", boasting 20 million plays and counting.

With Herbert's extensive advertising leadership experience, having been able to lead teams at both a global network agency (Y&R) and a globally-renowned independent agency (DM9), he started his own independent agency Gigil in 2017.

He brings in a wealth of experience that allowed him to handle big multinational clients like Nestle, Unilever, Colgate-Palmolive, Ford, Land Rover, and The North Face, as well as local conglomerates like San Miguel, Asia Brewery, CDO Foodsphere, Tanduay, and Splash. His work has also been recognized by The One Show, LIA, The New York Festivals, Ad Stars, The Work and AdFest. He has done jury duty for the NYF.
