Infant abandonment and institutionalized children is a major Romanian social issue, reflected in media with headlines like "No one cares about their crying, it's inhuman". Beneva Foundation via Jandl, Bratislava decided to test people's indifference with an experience, by placing a sensor activated box that triggered a baby cry that got more intense as the person got closer. The reaction proved that when people experience first-hand a social issue, the natural instinct is to help, not to be indifferent.
