 GUEST JUDGE /BEST AD OF THE WEEK   WORLDWIDE    December 19, 2016 08:05 (Edited: February 17, 2023 04:19)
BEST TV
Best: Nike 'Time Is Precious'. The absurdity of our addiction to phones and social media is delivered succinctly in a simple white-type-on-black film. The point being that maybe we could do something better with all that time. Like going for a run. While chasing likes.

Runner up: Highways England 'When It Rains'. Beautifully directed and equally powerful, this draws you in and takes you on a journey that ends with a sobering punch. A lovely reminder that when it comes to driving, pissing rain can be as dangerous as getting pissed.

BEST PRINT
Best: McDonald's 'Fishing Hook'. Nice use of logo as idea. Simple, clean, to the point.

Runner up: Student Flights 'Dude Vs Pensioner'. Who doesn't love a bit of knolling.

BEST OUTDOOR
Best: Rialto Channel 'The Breast Cancer Screenings'. If we can get tested for cancer by crying instead of having our boobs flattened in a machine, I would happily watch any number of tear jerkers. Nicely done.

Runner up: Public Eye 'Return to Sender'. Not sure what a "factor of 60" means in reducing the sulfur content of air, but hats off to any piece of work if it actually changed government policy rather than the usual "raising awareness".

BEST INTERACTIVE
Best: McDonald's 'The Boy Who Loves to Study'. I hope that people actually did "share the love" and other children got access to education, not just one little boy who was caught on camera for a sweet piece of content.

Runner up: Footlocker 'Audio Tours'. For sneaker lovers, I imagine this would have been a rewarding experience.
