Guest judge: Todd Tilford, CCO, Draftfcb Chicago

 GUEST JUDGE /BEST AD OF THE WEEK   WORLDWIDE    February 01, 2012 08:14 (Edited: February 17, 2023 05:19)
BEST TV
KINECT: STAR WARS DUEL. Hard to mess this one up. And they didn't. A lot of fun. Appreciate the fact that they didn't overplay it. Nice restraint. Played well.

BEST PRINT
STABILO BOSS HIGHLIGHTERS: DULCINEA. Print has become the Dulcinea of the very few. But with ads like this one, hope remains. Simple. Beautiful. Makes its point. Does not pander or offer up marketing crap. A marker that gets the job done, and evidently it's even capable of spotlighting the embellishments of the imagination.

BEST OUTDOOR
DNB BANK: MERRY PAYCHECK. Well done. Creative use of media. Imaginative, intelligent and practical use of sponsorship. Always nice to bring more a little more beauty into the world. Especially when it's replacing that voice on the other end of the phone that always seems to be saying "we don't have the time or desire to mess with you."

BEST INTERACTIVE
AMERICAN HERITAGE DICTIONARY: YOU ARE YOUR WORDS . Nice idea. People will like this. Speaks to the essence of the product. Not particularly my thing. Maybe I have just seen too much of the turning photos or objects or words into faces thing. But the idea that "you are your words" is powerful and true.
