BEST TVI usually judge work (privately) by how jealous I am of it and how much I wish I had made it. So, the film work I'm most jealous of this week is...
Winner: Penguins International '
Protest March of the Penguins'. That juxtaposition of absurd policy (tariffs on penguin-inhabited islands) with heartfelt conservation action is actually kind of brilliant. I loved the livestreamed element, and the music choice was spot on. Nice stuff as usual from the team at Rethink. I wish I had made it.
BEST PRINTWinner: Spotify '
Chappell Roan'. One of my favourite campaigns of the week. It captured the iconic fandoms of some of the world's biggest artists with visuals I can only describe as a vibe. The films were amazing, but the idea worked wonders in print. No line - just an image and logo. The photography is stunning. One of the best-looking ads I've seen in a while. Jealous.
Runner-up: Stella Artois '
Claustrobars'. In a time of logoless visual ads, this one stands out. It's more than just a minimalist idea; it captures a feeling (much like the Spotify ad) that the audience will relate to. Again, Stunning photography. Jealous.
BEST OUTDOOR Winner: Budweiser '
The Beer Behind the Backstage' is my favourite Outdoor piece of the week. Budweiser continues to dominate the music space, showcasing its authentic connection - backed by tangible evidence. In this case, it's riders. I love the simplicity and confidence of the art direction, as well as how this outdoor element feeds into a bigger idea that is activated at music festivals. Officially jealous.
Runner-up: Goody's '
Goody's Smile'. It made me smile, which, according to the case study, releases three neurochemicals/hormones. A simple yet effective idea that showcases the brand's purpose and demonstrates its understanding of the audience. Nice.
BEST INTERACTIVEWinner: SKF '
Faroe Islands Space Program'. A big, bold idea. Made me jealous.
Runner-up: Mami Wata '
Bald Faces'. A big, bald idea. Made me laugh.
